Q:   Is there any cost to register for these online courses?
A:   No. The online lectures and all course materials—including the reading selections—are provided online for free. If you enjoy Hillsdale’s online courses you may donate to support the program by visiting:

Q:   Is there a certain time I have to register for and participate in the courses?
A:   No. You may begin anytime. Once a new class is released you may watch it at your convenience.

Q:   Do I need to complete the course by a certain date or time?
A:   No. There are no set deadlines to complete the course material. You may work at your own pace.

Q:   Do you offer college credit or continuing education credit?
A:   No. If you complete the Final Quiz for a course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion, but this does not constitute any sort of official transcript or make you eligible for any type of credit.

Q:   What grade level are the courses appropriate for?
A:   These courses are best suited for those of a high school grade level and above.

Q:   Are the courses available on DVD or CD?
A:   There are DVD box sets for several online courses and they are available with a donation to the College. For more information and to see the list of DVD offers, visit:

Q:   Are there transcripts of the lectures available for purchase or download?
A:   We do not offer transcripts of the lectures.

Q:   Can the lectures be downloaded?
A:   An audio-only version of the lectures can be downloaded via Soundcloud. A link to download the audio is available under each lecture video.

Q:   How can I make a donation without signing up for the course?
A:   Information on how to make a donation can be found here:

Q:   How long are the lectures?
A:   Lecture lengths vary from class to class. They are typically 30-50 minutes.

Q:   What time are the lectures?  What happens if I miss a lecture or session?
A:   Once a class is released in its entirety you may watch them at your convenience.

Q:   Can I watch a lecture more than once?
A:   Yes. You may view the lectures as often as you like.

Q:   What is my Username or User ID?
A:   Your User ID is the email address you provided with your registration information.

Q:   How do I change my password?
A:   Login at and click on the red “My Profile” tab. Enter the new password in both boxes and click “Update”. On the next screen you will need to confirm the change by entering your old password.

Q:   I’ve forgotten my password.  How do I retrieve it?
A:   On the login page, click on the link “Forgot your password or User ID?” Enter your email address and Submit. A password reset link will be emailed to you. This link is active for 24 hours.

Q:   Do you share personal or contact information?
A:   No. Please view our Privacy Policy:

Q:   Why won’t the lecture videos play?
A:   Make sure your laptop or phone is connected to the internet. If the bandwidth is too small, it may cause the video to stop and start frequently. You may also need to make sure that your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) is configured properly.

Q:   How long will the courses be available?
A:   These courses will remain archived and available at your convenience for the foreseeable future.

Q:   Can you register multiple people using one email address?
A:   No.  Only one person’s name and information may be connected to a single email address.
