"The Reagan Revolution"

Overview

Ronald Reagan rejected the notion that the West, and the United States in particular, was experiencing an inevitable decline. At the time of his election in 1980, America’s economy was hampered by high taxes and high inflation. To combat these problems and others, Reagan appealed to America’s Founding principles of limited government and personal liberty—an appeal that brought about a renewal of the American spirit.
